Culvert and wall in an open channel
Hi Emmanuel,

The results seems consistent with the way that Iber has to solve culverts (see the hydraulic reference manual). Briefly, culvers does not solve the Shallow Water Equations, but the Manning equations is used instead to transfer the flow from one point to another. Hence, culverts works in Iber as a simplification of a very complex hydraulic process. However, this approax is good enough when the analysis is done in a river flood process (eg. a culvert located on one side of a bridge embancment).

Despite the dimensions of the culvert are equal the the witdh of the channel, the flow that can potentially transfer only depend of the hydraulic gradient between the start and the end points.

Best,

Marcos
